The 2018 theme for the Annual AGRA President’s Challenge is Climate.
The winning painting is a Watercolour titled Specimen by Cynthia Boyle.
Her artist statement:
The reality of climate change is upon us. Currently, the region I inhabit is experiencing hotter and drier conditions that previously. Eventually, this will lead to higher sea levels with coastal land disappearing underwater. Places of habitation will be drastically altered. As with human populations, birds will find it increasingly difficult to maintain a presence in their traditional territories. Nesting sites will be just ‘Above the Rising Tide’.
