Symbioscenes

July 3, 2021 @ 2:00 pm - July 25, 2021 @ 4:00 pm

Symbioscenes’ is Karen’s 22nd solo exhibition and has been a year in the making and is inspired by our symbiotic relationship with the earth its fragile ecosystems and its relationship to our inner and outer worlds. The exhibition explores the importance of living together with respect for the earth and all life in an everchanging world.

The exhibition was influenced particularly by the word Symbiocene created by Glen Albrecht. It describes a concept for a new era of human history affirming the interconnection companionship and mutual interdependence of all life living together for mutual benefit and nurtured by humans and has inspired this exhibition.

Coinciding with the exhibition eco-art therapy workshops with Karen Hopkins and Deborah Punton and a talk about ‘Tree is life’ and Treesisters from Ursula Dutkiewicz will be held in the gallery at Gasworks.

Karen will also be in the gallery over Open House Melbourne weekend to answer any questions about her work and invite the public to set an intention for entering the era of the Symbiocene and participate in the creation of a mandala in the Gasworks grounds.
