Cloud Wisps Mallacoota

Cloud Wisps Mallacoota is a play with watercolour on canvas. The quiet of the beach on a June winter stayed with me when I could not go plein air painting. The bay at Mallacoota is a complex and lovely group of lands and shapes and the play of the light off the shapes is beautiful at all times of the day. The cloud play in the early morning light is delicious and the watercolour played with the shapes on the canvas to create the wisps and flumes of colour in the clouds as the sun rose. Painting this and allowing the watercolour to work through the brush and into the canvas was amazing and enthralling.
