Finding Moses

I painted this image to illustrate a story I’d written of the same name. The story was first read on Lion FM radio, 2012, and then printed, with this image, in 2021 by Jewish Women of Words. The theme of the story was inspired by a painting in the NGV called Finding Moses, by Tiepolo. What does it really mean, to find Moses? What are we looking for? What do we find? And why? The image reflects the last scene of the story, which, I hope, captures the notion of awe and the power of prayer, soldiers in prayer shawls praying beneath Jerusalem’s night sky.
