Lake Bunga, East Gippsland
In Lake Bunga, I have explored the intrinsic beauty of shorelines, where the waters meet the land and create the most amazing patterns in line, shape and colour. Shorelines are an intrinsic part of my painting and a continual source of enjoyment to pursue.
The composition of this work is what really drew me in, with its high horizon line and depth of field. I love the Olsen-esque lines in the works foreground, leading to the spindally trees on the river bank. You’ve managed to keep the landscape appearing truly organic, giving an idea of the journey of the river and accurately capturing the beauty in the shoreline.
