Light Shining Through

This painting was inspired by light ricocheting through a forest of redwoods My aim in the painting was to both capture the uplifting effect of light and the essence and beauty of these gentle giants, on whose lives we depend -we quite literally breathe with the trees and since time immemorial they have involved us in a visceral relationship. The painting was created layer upon layer in a process of application and scraping back.
