Lon Garden in Summer

Lon Garden in Summer depicts the garden of Lon Retreat & Spa, Point Lonsdale from a closer viewpoint. The tangled, strappy leaves and flowers of the Dietes Grandiflora and Bicolor now dominate. Yellow Gazanias are glimpsed through distant branches. Green hues unify this composition. Dark tones create depth, inviting exploration beyond, while enhancing vibrancy. My oil painting freely captures the essence of the scene with lyrical mark making, achieved mostly with small, flat Taklon brushes. My paintings are a celebration of the beauty and restorative powers of nature and gardens.
