Shimmering silence Maldon

My garden backs onto the Nuggetty hills in Maldon. The landscape as i drive to the town and around the town fill the eye with shapes.
The choice of gouache for this painting plays with the vulnerability of the landscape and the medium on canvas. Blocks of colour and texture emerged as the landscape painted itself. i enjoyed the softness and opacity of the gouache, that led me to play with edges in the texture of the trees and plants and sky.
