Walk on the Wildside

For years I have been drawn to the painting of The Goldfinch by Dutch artist Carel Fabritius

I visited Mauritshuis in the Hague and learned more about the painting and tragic death of Fabritius.

Fabritius was a student of Rembrandt and it is thought likely that he influenced Vermeer who was painting in Delft around that time.
Perhaps Fabritius is the Link between Rembrandt and Vermeer?
I was inspired to include the Goldfinch in a more modern scene.
I imagined the Goldfinch in a story with a model who looks as if she is a character from a Lou Reed Song.
