Eileen M Mackley AM
I have been exhibiting at the Victorian Artists Society since 1994, entering select exhibitions and other individual exhibitions, gaining a VAS Signatory Award for the number of select exhibitions entered over five consecutive years, a VAS Fellowship Award for services to the VAS Society, Life membership and an AM (Member of the Order of Australia) in recognition of services to the community in the field of art, heritage building restoration and philanthropy.
My commitment to the Victorian Artists Society really began when I was elected a member of the VAS Council in 2008 and later VAS President in 2013 until my retirement in 2021.
My time given to VAS member activities, fundraising and restoration of the VAS building over the past 8 years has restricted my activity in returning to my love of painting and drawing.
Many of my paintings are held in local and international collections.
However, since retirement I have returned to my studio where I love to paint and draw, enjoying every minute of creating studio work, mainly still life. Hopefully this will result in a small exhibition, in the near future.
