Artist, studied Ealing  School of Art, London 1947-1952. born in Malaysia of English and Irish parents, she spent seven years of her childhood in Tiensin, China and then in England. She emigrated to Australia in 1957, after marrying an Australian. Maureen worked as a commercial artist in England and Australia and was employed as an art/craft teacher byt he Victoria Education Department 1971 – 1981. Teaching allowed her to work the same hours as her children and gave her extended holiday periods. As an artist she aims to “interpret and develop what I see, through imagination to a greater or lesser extent, depending upon my purpose. to show that there are different ways of perceiving what we call reality.” In 1986 – 1987 she served as President of the Waverley Arts Society.
