MSWPS is Australia's oldest surviving women's art group, with a rich history of supporting women artists. Our community is vibrant and diverse, offering members a supportive environment to grow their artistic careers and connect with like-minded individuals.

MSWPS offer a range of events and workshops that both Associate Members and Full Members can participate in. These include our monthly member meetings, weekly life-drawing sessions, an annual bus excursion, a Winter Luncheon and a Christmas Luncheon. We also run an Annual Exhibition that Full Members can take part in

Member-only events are visible in your Member Portal and the main website Events page when you are logged in as a Full or Associate Member.

Our new system makes managing your membership simple. Whether you’re applying for membership, renewing or upgrading, updating your profile, or making payments, it’s all seamlessly done through the Member Portal.

Depending on your membership type, you can also create and promote events, submit artworks, and more—all in one place.

Membership renewal is easy through the Member Portal. You can renew your membership with just a few clicks, ensuring you continue to enjoy all the benefits of being an MSWPS member.

Limited Member Portal Access

This level of access is granted to Associate Members and those who have applied for Full Membership whose applications are not yet reviewed. Limited Member Portal access gives you the ability to update and access the following

• Contact details and password

• Membership and payment details

  Access to member-only events in the event calendar

Full Member Portal Access

This level of access is granted to approved Full Members. Full Member Portal access gives you the ability to access and update the following:

• Contact details and password

• Membership and payment details

• Access to member-only events in the calendar

• Artist profile (profile photo, social links, artist statement, artworks)

• Access to member-only events in the event calendar

• Event creation form to promote your own workshops and exhibitions in the general event calendar

• Annual Exhibition submission form

Full Members can (and are encouraged to) nominate themselves to join the Committee after their first full year of membership. The Committee is elected by members at our Annual General Meeting and meet monthly to plan the member events.

1. Complete the online for
   Start by filling out the membership form, select Associate Membership and make your annual membership payment of $40.

2. Enjoy your membership
   Your membership is instantly activated and you will be able to see and participate in member only events and manage your contact details and membership in your portal.

Absolutely! If you are an Associate Member, you can easily upgrade your membership through your Member Portal to enjoy a range of additional benefits.

1. Complete the online form
   Start by filling out the membership form, select Full Membership and make your annual membership payment of $90.

2. Complete your profile
   You'll be taken to your Member Portal. You’ll then need to complete your profile by uploading a profile photo, adding an artist statement at least 5-6 artworks, your social links and any documents that support your art-making process.

3. Committee review
   The MSWPS Committee will review your application. If successful, you will be notified and will become a Full Member. If unsuccessful, you have the opportunity to become an Associate Member.

4. Enjoy your membership
   Once approved, you’ll gain access to the Full Member Portal and can start taking advantage of all the perks of being a Full Member

The MSWPS Committee reviews Full Membership applications based on several criteria, including:

• Artistic quality: The originality, skill, and overall quality of the submitted artworks.

• Professionalism: The completeness and professionalism of your CV and artist statement.

• Engagement: Your involvement in the art community and any previous exhibitions or workshops.

• Potential contribution: How your membership could enrich the MSWPS community and align with our mission to support women artists.

Each application is carefully assessed to ensure that new members meet our standards and will benefit from and contribute to our vibrant community.

If your application is not approved, you will be offered an Associate Membership and refunded the difference of cost.

An Associate Membership gives you the opportunity to engage with the society as listed in the Associate Membership application. When you are confident that your work has developed, you can apply to upgrade to Full Membership. You may choose not to follow this pathway and we will refund the full amount to you.

The Artist Profile sits in our artist directory and is searchable by the general public. It is a great way for Full Members to get additional exposure. Your profile can feature:

• Profile photo

• Artist statement

• Up to 8 artwork images

• Social links (featuring profile photo, bio, 8 artworks and social links)

If you are a Full Member, you can submit up to 2 works to our Annual Exhibition. Simply login to your Member Portal and click the ‘Exhibition Submission’ link. From here you can upload your submissions and pay the application fee. Once approved, your submission will appear on the annual exhibition page.

Full members can promote their own events and workshops through the member portal. Simply add your event dates and details and submit the details for review. Once approved, you will receive an email notification and your event will appear on our events page.

Full members can submit any achievements or awards to MSWPS using the form on the ‘Submit Achievement’ page in your Member Portal. We will review and consider this for inclusion in our blog and newsletter.
