MSWPS at AGRA 50th Anniversary Exhibition
MSWPS member Lulu Clifton-Evans and her dedicated team in resurrecting the Australian Guild of Realist Artists recently curated the 50th Anniversary Exhibition.
Fourteen artists, who are also MSWPS members, had artworks selected for the exhibition and several were successful in receiving awards.
Lulu Clifton-Evans, Christine Broersen, Jan Martin, Annee Kelly, Ngaire Donald, Cynthia Boyle, Carole Milton, Anne Melloy, Barbara McManus, Margaret Picken, Vivi Palegeorge, Jo Reitze, Kath McCann and Jude Marganis featured thirty-two artworks across four gallery spaces.
The exhibition featured a tribute to AGRA founder Kath Ballard OAM with nine of her works on display. Kathlyn Ballard joined MSWPS in 1975 and continued her membership until her death in 2013. She is featured on page 193 of More than Just Gumtrees by Honorary Member Juliet Peers.
Awards to MSWPS Members at AGRA include several Highly Commended to Christine Broersen, Lulu Clifton-Evans, Ngaere Donald, Jan Martin, Anne Melloy, and Carole Milton.
The Jeff Williams Memorial Portrait and Figurative Award went to Barbara McManus.
Best Landscape/Seascape went to Jo Reitze.
Best Pastel went to Anne Melloy.
McCubbin Oil Painting Award went to Jo Reitze.
