Sculpture at Acheron - Submissions Now Open

Inspired by a quote from her father, John Rennie, whose love and knowledge of this land was without bounds – “There’s nothing like walking over a place. You have to live there, walk over the ground, to get a feel of it” – Marian used this insight as the theme for a sculpture exhibition.

Within the Land – Sculpture in Acheron is an exciting, artistic event showcasing sculpture in Marian Rennie’s historic rural garden at Rennies at Acheron, 132 Breakaway Road, Acheron.

After delays due to Covid restrictions and the upheaval of the past year Marian and Little River Wines of Taggerty are thrilled to be once again holding this event. Opening weekend will beEaster Friday to Tuesday and Anzac Long Weekend ending 26th April – , commencing with a cocktail party on Thursday, !st April from 5pm to 8pm. The licensed restaurant/cafe will be open on both days for the duration.

Entry to the exhibition throughout the garden will be by gold coin donation at the gate.

As the title suggests, the sculpture show’s theme is a journey through landscape, nature, the Australian bush and its inherent profoundness, quirkiness, characters, as well as the emotion and celebration all that inspires.

Following the success of the inaugural exhibition and sculpture sales in 2018, it’s anticipated that Within the Land – Sculpture Show at Acheron will become a biannual event and will encourage established and emerging artists and sculptors from across Australia to display their works and engage with other artists and a diverse, interested community. Local, interstate and indigenous artists are encouraged to participate as this will be a unique opportunity to exhibit and sell work in a renowned garden, surrounded by extensive farm and bushland along the Goulburn River, located just 2 hours from Melbourne.

At the 2018 event, the show consisted of over 150 exhibits from Australian and international sculptors and botanical artists. As a result, 1800 visitors were drawn to Acheron and district and more than 40% of the works were sold.
Visit the Little River Wines website www.littleriverwines.com.au/events for the application form and submission details or ring Marian on 0412 109 129.
