Threads of light by Karen Hopkins

Within the Medieval surrounds of Montsalvat the Long Gallery was host to an exhibition of painting, sculpture and poetry by MSWPS Member Karen Hopkins.

Karen states:

“This exhibition is an exploration and celebration of light through painting, sculpture and poetry. Inspired byt he light we see around us in varying landscapes and in each other.”

There is plenty of subtle colour, mystery and softness of light through the paintings, with touches of gold leaf and hints of light drifting throughout.

Several natural timber forms have been transformed into figurative sculptures with the use of ceramic and wire.

Two artworks were offered as Silent Auctions with funds donated to charity.

Karen States that: “…this body of work was created over the last 2-3 years…….Through my art I hope to bring people closer to nature…….and invite the viewer on a journey to the deeper levels that connect us all.

The exhibition at the Long Gallery Montsalvat April 14 – May 8 2022
