Covis Spring: Wildflowers
This painting represents some of the Wild-flowers grown on a small area of hill and hillside across the river here on my property. The Spring of 2020 was a very different one to the dry spring of 2019 and for me being here constantly because of Covid Lockdown I was able to observe the appearance of new species flowering and rate of change that occurred in the colours of the landscape. I used the format of the green border to represent how I was surrounded by the green paddocks of the farm and the Lockdown restrictions. The purpose of not filling all the flowers in with their colour was to try and indicate something of their delicate, fragile and fleeting nature, with the possibility in mind with that they may cease to grow here in future if conditions change.
