Melbourne Lockdown 20-21 – When the bin went out more than I did
A friend took this photo. It’s one of the laneways in North Fitzroy. It’s winter, and again it’s the weekly time to put out the rubbish bin. The challenge in this work was to capture the mood, the light and the chill. Intrinsically this image exposes the sense of loneliness that has pervaded our extraordinary lockdown circumstance in the past 2 years. Subdued greys and colours are woven across the dusk of the scene. Oil on professionally stretched canvas.
